Lascaux and its famous cave
35 kilometres from the campsite, set out on an adventure in the Lascaux cave!
Its 147 sites and 25 caves dating from the Stone Age have led to the Vézère valley being called the "valley of prehistory". Listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites, they are now all preserved, including the famous Lascaux cave, which was discovered in 1940, and which is now closed to the public. But don’t worry, there are so many treasures to discover... You can still look in wonder at the impressive Lascaux cave paintings thanks to the exhibition or even soon visit the replica cave (2016).
