La Roque Saint Christophe
La Roque Saint Christophe (Google Maps)
A stone's throw from Les Eyzies, on the commune of Peysac-le-Moustier, you will discover the largest troglodyte site in Europe.
It is the work of the river and the frost that formed these natural cavities on a length of 1 km and a height of 80 meters, on five floors.
Occupied by man in troglodyte shelters in Prehistory, in forts and cities until the Renaissance, it is a story of 55 000 years that will be told you.
Stages will reveal life in the Middle Ages, not to mention the reconstructions of civil engineering machinery used by medieval builders.
A beautiful discovery!
