Camping in Rocamadour in Dordogne

World famous Rocamadour is clinging to the cliff at a height of 120 meters above the Dordogne Valley. In the Middle Ages, it was already admired and in the 12th century, pilgrims came from all over Europe on their way to Santiago de Compostela.

Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will have to climb the 216 steps of the staircase to admire the Saint-Sauveur basilica and the Saint-Amadour crypt.

Among the 8 chapels of the village, the Notre-Dame chapel shelters the Black Virgin venerated for more than a millennium.

Don’t miss the Gouffre de Padirac which is located 20 minutes away. Great site of speleology, you will dive to 70 m of depth by a walk at first, to visit it then by boat on the underground river.
