Rocamadour

World famous, Rocamadour is clinging to the cliff at a height of 120 meters above the Dordogne Valley. In the Middle Ages, it already aroused admiration and in the 12th century, pilgrims came from all over Europe on the road to Santiago de Compostela.

Listed as UNESCO World Heritage, you will have to climb the 216 steps of the staircase to admire the Basilica of Saint-Sauveur and the crypt Saint-Amadour.

Among the 8 chapels of the village, the Notre-Dame chapel is home to the venerated Black Virgin for over a thousand years.

Do not miss the Padirac Chasm, which is 20 minutes away. Great caving site, you will dive to 70 m depth by a walk at first, and then visit by boat on the underground river.

For guided tours, you will find information on the website of the tourist office or the municipality.
